World of Horror seems to hit all its goals. While its approach to horror is rather derivative of Junji Ito, it’s applied in a creative way and with a vision of its own. I can’t say I was blown away because it really is exactly the game that it claims to be. However, I was immensely satisfied. It’s a wonderfully modular experience, but if you’re deathly afraid of numbers, then that’s where you’ll find the real horror.

Even so, this is a remarkable horror game with many lovely, nasty facets to discover. From the tense music, the deployment of rare sound effects and animations, and the sparse but effective writing in combination with the clarity of the art, World Of Horror is doing some fabulous things. It’s game that is absolutely being what it wants to be. And because of that, some of you are going to hate it.
As for whether or not World of Horror is actually scary, I’m not sure if I can answer that. I guess it depends on how effective you consider body and existential horror. The game largely leans on the sort of topics that Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft favored, so you can expect cults, voyeurs, and incomprehensible horror. As an adventure title, there are no real jump scares, but sometimes, during screen transitions, you can see strange symbols left on your screen, which is a really nice touch.

Aaron Judge went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and a walk, running his series tally to 1-for-12 with seven strikeouts. Stanton’s double in the fourth inning Monday was New York’s only extra-base hit. The Yankees went 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base. They had rallies end with a questionable send (Stanton getting thrown out at home in the fourth inning) and a questionable strike three call (Gleyber Torres taking a pitch above the strike zone with two runners on base in the seventh inning).
