The same four-player cap applies to Battle Royale, a mode that sees you duke it out inside a wrestling ring. The extra modes provide a nice respite from the core game.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con on July 28, 2009. On June 8, 2010, Game Informer presented their first hands on, where it was revealed the game would be a timed exclusive for PlayStation Network, with an Xbox Live Arcade release at a later date. The first trailer for the game was released on June 11, 2010, which showed some of the stages in the game such as inside a club, on a street and noticeably inside a Toronto Transit Commission streetcar. The game makes various references to video games, such as River City Ransom, Mario, Kirby, Mega Man, and Guitar Hero. An early pitch video was revealed on August 11, 2010, which showcased even more retro graphics and direct parodies of classic games.
Game 3 world series
This was the third World Series start of Buehler’s career — all of them, oddly enough, in Game 3 — and in those starts he’s combined for 18 innings and only one run. His team has won all three, and this particular win put the Dodgers one away from a championship.
Buehler returned from Tommy John surgery in May and had a 5.38 ERA in the regular season. He allowed six runs in the second inning of his first playoff start, and everything suggested that he was a diminished version of a once-great Dodgers starter. But Buehler looked like his old self in Game 3, and he’s now pitched 12 consecutive scoreless innings this postseason. He doesn’t have his former velocity, but he’s remained aggressive and found ways to beat some of the game’s best hitters.

Walking the first batter of the game is a bad feeling. Walking the first batter of the third inning? Feels bad, too. When both walkers score, you’ll have some trouble falling asleep that night. Schmidt had a miserable day at the office. Bloops, blasts, bases on balls. Freeman homered in the first inning. In the third, Mookie Betts ended a nine-pitch at-bat with a bloop RBI single to right field. Schmidt walked two of the next three batters before being pulled. His line: 2 2/3 innings, two hits, three runs, four walks, three strikeouts, 68 pitches and a loss.
Betts made a diving grab in right field after Giancarlo Stanton doubled with one out in the fourth. Teoscar Hernández then fired up all his teammates with a perfect 94 mph throw to the plate on Anthony Volpe’s single, cutting down Stanton to preserve a 3-0 cushion.
Maybe this one should be more like a half checkmark, but we can at least give the Yankees some credit for getting a few hits and runs from the bottom of the order and not relying entirely on Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton to lead the offense. Granted, Stanton did have 40 percent of their hits in this game, but Anthony Volpe had his first hit of the series (he struck out in his other three at-bats) and Alex Verdugo hit a two-run home run with two outs in the ninth. I mean, at least the Yankees weren’t shut out. That’s good. Right?
Game 2 world series
Ohtani had all of Dodger Stadium holding its collective breath when he left in the seventh inning after appearing to sustain a shoulder injury during a stolen-base attempt. Ohtani rolled around on the ground while grabbing his left arm before heading to the clubhouse.
The Dodgers outbid several teams (including the Yankees) to sign Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the three-time reigning MVP in Japan, and it was for moments like this: to shut down one of the highest scoring offenses in baseball in a World Series game. The regular season is important, for sure, but games like Game 2 is why the Dodgers gave Yamamoto a record $325 million contract.
Rodón allowed 31 homers during the regular season, the second most in baseball, and 21 of the 31 came off his fastball. That was the second-most homers off any pitch type in MLB (Shota Imanaga allowed 22 homers on his fastball). In Game 2, the Dodgers hit all three homers off Rodón’s fastball. He threw 38 heaters and the Dodgers swung and missed once. They were on him.
Buehler has made two postseason starts for the Dodgers this fall, both on the road. He took a loss in San Diego on Oct. 8 after giving up six runs in the second inning of his five-inning start, but he rebounded to throw four scoreless innings with six strikeouts against the Mets in Game 3 of the NLCS on Oct. 16.
Trevino nonetheless got a hittable pitch, a middle-in fastball at 93.4 mph. Trevino, though, hit just .151 against left-handed fastballs in the regular season. He swung just under the ball and flied out 345 feet to center field. The Yankees stranded the bases loaded and finished the game 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Their ninth-inning rally made for another nailbiting finish but ended one big swing short of altering the game’s outcome.
